Private Interest Foundation (PIF) Jurisdictions & Costs
A private interest foundation is a civil law construct and hence ‘traditionally’ only available in civil law jurisdictions. Leading PIF jurisdictions include Switzerland, Liechtenstein and more recently Panama and the Seychelles. There is no doubt that Switzerland and Liechtenstein are the most prestigious with a long and robust tradition of successfully managing PIF’s (known as stiftung’s in German speaking countries) supported by licensed, mostly legal administrators, strict regulation and substantial indemnity insurance. However, since the 1990’s Panama and the Seychelles have offered very competitive alternatives at a fraction of the cost and – subject to correctly drafted Charters and Regulations – can provide just as robust a structure as their Germanic alternatives. In fact, protection can be had for as little as a few thousand Euro. For more information on PIF’s please click below Cost effective PIF Enquiry Form - click here |
